THE MAN WHO SAVED KANO
During the 1972 Cholera Epidemic in Kano, millions of lives were on the line. A man rose to the challenge and developed a World Health Organisation-approved Cholera Vaccine, which was used to combat the 1972 Kano Cholera Epidemic 😷, saving lives and generations. That man’s name is Professor Augustine Njoku Obi, an Igbo man.
Remember this was just two years after the unfortunate uncivil war, where same people from Kano were principal perpetrators of the Igbo genocide for three years.
One of the major sociocultural principles of Ndi Igbo is Ndukaku/Ndu Ka aku, Ndukuba/Ndu Ka Uba, Ndubuisi, Ezi aha Ka ego, Eziokwu bu Ndu. A fundamental Igbo man or woman and society never extols wealth and money over life, dignity and legacy. If you’re Igbo, wherever you are, don’t forget this 👆🏾👆🏾👆🏾👆🏾
